Need Sunroof Seal Replaced

alright, i have NO idea of how to go about doing this, so i have a few questions.

is mazdatrix the only place the sells the seal? its $100!

is the seal easy to install, or should i get it professionally done?

would a local shop be able to use a generic type seal to replace it?

You're talking about the rubber seal that goes around the sunroof? You cannot use anything but a stock ones.
You'll just waste time and money getting one exact fit.
Your sunroof won't open/close if it's binding.

ehhh wrong. Go to a hardware or a marine parts store and get some generic seal of the same size and attach it. I've done it to another fc, and my friends weird, actually i dunno what the hell his car was, but it works just fine. Just make sure you use something like marine sealant to glue it on and not some simple epoxy or super glue.

Ive heard that you can put vaseline on the seals if there leaking and that makes the rubber swell up and have a better seal. I have yet to try it on mine because it does occasionally leak. Anyone try it and have it work?

the seal doesn't stop water... there are drains inside. if it's leaking your drains are probably cloged.

right in the center at the front of my sunroof the seal is missing like 1 inch there.......it leaks in then runs and drips out where the drivers side apillar meets the part that goes across the top of the windsheild.....and drips right into the drivers seat.

mine does that too. but it's not the sunroof....It's the windshield, i have done extensive pressure washing testing and your winshield sealant has probably deteriorated...Check that.....easy fix.
