need some wiring help...
hey guys! i am currently working on putting my jdm s5 tii motor into my s5 n/a and was wondering which way to go...
jdm harness with jdm ecu?
n/a harness with jdm ecu?
n/a harness with n/a ecu?
i've searched the forums and found out that some people have done it all three ways... but just asking for you input... thanks a bunch!
chuck
ps...
anybody know where i could find a wiring diagram for the jdm motor?

ECU doesn't matter...
JDM versus US-spec should be swappable with minor differences.
The harness DOES matter.
The J-spec harness will not fit in a *US-spec chassis* due the the swap in driving positions.
You'd need to elongate the J-spec harness to fit your US-spec chassis - real PITA to do.
...or get a US-spec harness in the first place.
I really can't see how the J-spec harness can be rerouted to fit!

The US-spec ECU handles a little more emissions components.
There's a bunch of bypass valves / solenoids that are not installed on the J-spec version.
Although I can't confirm this, rumors has it that the ignition timing is more aggressive on the J-spec ECU due to the better gas in Japan.
