Talking need some advice, fc GTU

hey guys,

need some advice on a car that i want to get, a 1989 GTU (not GTU-S). it's missing engine and tranny, needs body work, but otherwise seem OK. it's beautiful red w/ black interior (this along w/ white is my ideal color for this car), obviously needs LOTS of work. reportedly has quite a few things missing, has original wheels...but it's only ~$400...

from this little bit of info, think it'd be a viable project car or just a parts car? if one gets a new 13B and tranny, how much would that run? how about a 20B? think it's worth it? as far as i know, '89 GTU is the base model right? should i leave this alone? i'm itching for this car...

If you do get it, you in for a lot of work and a lot of money flying out the window and into your car (no that it's a bad thing). Just so you know what your getting into, grab a pen a paper and throw out the prices of how much it will cost for the engine, tranny, wireing harness, etc.

i'm itching for this car...

If your itching for it, I wouldn't suggest scraching it 'till you look around for a few other FC's. I'm sure there are plenty of FC's out there for you to enjoy. You live in california; plenty of FC's left for you out there.

I drove 7 other cars 'till I found the one I wanted.

i'll tell you what if you wants some prices on some engines go to <<< www.revolutionrotary.com >>>> This site offers street ported engines as well as 3 mm apex seals which are a good investment. If you really want a gtu then go for it but i would say if you are ok with having a non-turbo engine then look for a GTUS instead. They are the rarest RX7 ever made and you'll probably be able to convince some fool that he needs to get rid of his RX7. Any questions just email me at
