![Question](https://www.rx7club.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Ok so I own a 1991 rx7...no problems since ive owned it(few months) anyways I went to drop someone off. After I got into my car and went to start it...nothing. It would crank over but thats it. Anyways waited fo a bit and checked some stuff and it fired up(NO not out of gas). On the ride home I was just cruising along when my car all of a sudden stopped running without warning. So I towed it and I am 95% sure its not the fuel pump. Had a mechanic (brilliant guy but not when it comes to mazdas) look at it and another guy. Doesnt want to mess things up cuz he doesnt know much about rx7's. But they think its electrical (some kind of switch?) So I am really looking for some help here and if anyone would know anything that would help me. Don't know if you can...didnt give much info...but if someone knows it would be appreciated.

The airflow meter (AFM) has a fuel cut switch built into it that is there to shutoff fuel in the event of an accident. It's possible that this is what caused the car to die while moving. You can get a used one for pretty cheap in the classified section. Just be sure it's S5 NA or Turbo (whichever you have).

Had EXACT same problem, fuel sock fell off my pump in the tank, my fuel filter clogged up pretty bad and my pump was overworking itself and over heating, new pump, sock, and filter fixed everything.
