Wiring is different for S4 and S5 7's...so make sure you take that into account.

you are gonna run into a problem on the passenger side.It goes through an Amp,and the speaker is located in the Amp unit itself.
Run wires to the speakers and Cut the Old plugs off and attach the new wires to all the speakers. It is alot better than depending on an 20 year old harness, and God knows who Hacked at it!.

one other thing to take into account so you don't fry something is the power ant, the RX7 is a negative trigger for that and aftermarket radios are positive trigger, so if you hook it up w/out a relay it won't work, also if I remember the relay will power the stock amps, been a while since I did mine, at any rate do a search for power antenna and you will come up with a bunch of diagrams here on the forum, there is also a website that tells you exactly how to wire the relay, I think about a year ago I answered this questing like once a week so you should turn up some results if you search with my name

good luck

oh and if the stock amps are still in then you CAN use them, if everything is hooked up including the relay for the ANT then the amps will come on and it will sound great, I ran an aftermarket radio with stock amps / speakers for a while before I got new speakers

you can, however there are restrictions..

first you need to read the manual for the head unit you have and find out what kind of load it can handle ( the will be an OHM value and will look like an upside down U with funny brackets) and then you need to find out the load (ohm's) of the speakers..

there are two ways you can hook up speakers, series or parallel

in series resistance (load - ohm) is additive so if the speakers are 2ohms each the load will be 4 ohms

in parallel resistance is a formula, i don't know the formula but it is called
'the reciprocated sum of the reciprocals' you can google that...
but I do know that if the speakers are both 2 ohms you will get about a 1ohm load which most radios can not handle, both 4 ohms will get you about 2 ohms
don't think that is half because its not, that is just how they work out with 2 and 4 ohms speakers
you may have to get an inline crossover that has one input and two outputs, I believe it will be the "Passive" type crossover that would do it for you, that is ONLY if the OHM value is out of range for the head unit

I warn you NOT to run the speakers out of range doing so may cause harm to the amplifier built into the head unit or may possibly blow your speakers

good luck and you can PM me or just post here if you need any more help

no idea on the colors for the amp, they should be listed in the FSM wich can be found in the FAQ for 2nd gen wich is a sticky at the top of the 2nd gen page, there is a seperate wire come to think of it for the AMP that is needed to power them on, you can bypass it by cutting the wires, it shouldn't be hard to figure out if you look at the wires in the dash, at the amp and the colors at the speakers you can pinpoint what is what, the amp is located on the passenger side just below the glovebox

if I remember when I did mine the 4 wires on the left of the plug as you look at the pin side with the retaining clip up are the 2 channels for the speaker input / outputs, I put jumpers in there so I didn't have to hack any wires, but you could cut them and splice them to get it to work...

if you can't figure it out you can do a trial and error, run 2 sets of wires from radio to passenger side, mark wich one is right and left and keep plugging them into the harness and when the speaker comes on you got it, then splice it in. that is what I would do personally.
