need info on this turbo

i found a t3 turbo and a ford probe intercooler for 175. i now run a 87 na, and i know i would have to run very little boost. maybe like 5 psi. I also know i will need a piggyback unit and piping, i was just wondering if you guys think this is a good price and a good turbo. thanks.

T3 turbos and T3/T4 hybrids are generally too small for RX-7's. The ford probe intercooler is probably also too small to be worth it. Why not use all RX-7 TII stuff?

mainly because where i live, michigan, there are NO t1 or t11 rx7's. i have checked almost every junk yard in the area and i found a 1st gen rx once but it was stripped and the only thing left was the shell.

I dont know. i am not too serious about turboing my car yet, i just thought it was a good price.

The "t1" or turbo 1st gen was never imported into the U.S., thus I would be very suprised if you ever came across one.

Second, cheap will almost always bite you in the ***.
A "cheap" turbo project will almost always end up in failure.
This is not something you should take up on a whim.
Reference on turbo'ing your NA is abundant in here - do a search.
You'll find out you're probably in over your head - it's not just about slapping a turbo on the side of your 13B.

Drop the idea unless you have a couple grand in hand to really finish the project.

i ment a 1st gen.... in general. so i assume it was a N/A. i dont remember EVER saying it was a turbo. thanks. also, i know its not just slapping a turbo on, and i am well aware the turboing the N/A is covered here. like you, i also read. If you read the thread, it will say that i was asking for advice on the quality of the turbo, it mentioned nothing about how to do it, or how to find out how to do it. Next time you should read the post, then post a reply.

There was a recent discussion about using OEM turbos - maybe in the Single Turbo section?

Basically, all of them are junk and too small.
Almost any T3 is too small, period.

Thats nice. I remember that thread, it read something like....
I am going to a junkyard and i want to know what other turbos i can use, and people said that you can only use 7's turbos... but i do not recall anyone listing any certin turbos.

so really it didnt help me at all.
