Exclamation need help losing oil pressure

hey at first i had thought that my gauge wasnt reading the right pressure but i am not sure about that now i did the full t2 swap and i had an oil leak from the front cover i ripped it apart and resealed it no leaks yay but i replace the o ring with one that is slightly larger trust me not much but now at idle my gauge reads at 0 and while driving it reads like 45 when i know it should ba at 60-65 and this is when my car reaches normal temp and on cold start it reads the way it is supposed to prolly cause the oil is cold now what do you think the prob is i am guessing the o ring but i thought i would try to get a better perspective

you are not alone

been dealing with the same problem for a month or more now. see my other posts about it.

I ordered a new oil pump, new bypass, new pressure regulator as there aren't really many options for the source of the failure. Originally assumed it was the front cover o-ring, but when I pulled it off, no sign of movement, and after replacing it, still have the same problem.

Get a mechanical oil pressure gauge to be sure it matches what the stock gauge says, but the stock gauge is probably accurate if it was reading correct before and is reading correct at cold start.

The other thing that has been mentioned to me by a few reputable people are two pressure regulators/check valves for oil pressure that are located inside the block, which would require disassembly of the engine to replace, hopefully this is not the problem as it would be quite time consuming.

yep when my car idles it goes down to 0 if i get on it hard it shoots up to 65-60 if i am on the free way its steady at 30-40 area. i just assumed it was the gauge. i keep on checking my oil and making sure everything was ok but no luck i am not running rough and my iddle is constint so as of right now i am not going to worry about it also save money like crazy if anything does go wrong
