Get a crowbar, how did you get the flywheel nut off?

Rent a puller! Apply pressure then hit with a hammer. It'll cost you about $5

take a crow bar or pry bar of some kind and wedge it in between the flywheel and the block. Next hit the bar with a hammer, just tap it a couple of times. Do this several times moving to opasite sides of the fly.

I got mine off with a 4ft pipe attached to a 1in breakerbar. A metal hammer and a tree log. I had my brother (190lbs) stand on the end of the pipe. Stuck myself and the treelog onto the top of the block and began to hit the end of the breaker. (onto the socket top) It too some balanceing before it started to work. Here is an artist rendition of what happened...

PS be sure to fix the flywheel so it dosent move.

hehe that pic is awesome! To get the nut off we used a 2 1/8" socket and a huge 3/4" rachet with the end of our floor jack as a breaker bar, ohh and a blow torch

Now the damn flywheel will not come off, I tried the crowbar between the flywheel and the block and hit a few times, moved the flywheel a little then hit it more ect. and the **** still will not budge.

also on another note I used a pilot bearing puller to take well uh the pilot bearing out and it broke the bearing leaving just the out side of the bearing still in there and theres not enough of a lip on the remaining piece of pilot bearing to use the puller, so thats stuck in there too

Deadblow Hammer

Here is a deadblow hammer. The force of the blow is concentrated on the work: It doesn't bounce like a Sledgehammer will!

You guys are neanderthols. Pry bars and hammers have a way of breaking things you don't intend to damage. There are two holes near the center of the flywheel that are tapped for something like a 10mm x 1.25 bolt. Anyway, find two bolts that fit those holes and are long enough to run in and make contact with the block behind the flywheel. Grab two pieces of scrap flat bar stock about 1/8" think. The stock will go behind the flywheel and you'll run the bolts down against it. The flat stock will protect the backside of the block and the stationary gear. Run the bolts down together until the flywheel pops off. Leave the big nut on just finger tight and only two or three turns down so the flywheel doesn't fall on your face by mistake when it pops. There's no banging, no grunting while prying and literally no sweat. Best part is you don't run the risk of damaging a main bearing because you applied 600lb/ft at a right angle to the e-shaft.

I just whacked the flywheel flat accross with a 3' pipe (from the floor jack) and it fell right off, broke 3 flywheel pullers trying to get it off that way, read on here to hit it real hard, and tada it came right off Makes one hell of a loud noise tho

Yeah put some bolts on it loosely (so it wont fly off any hit something), then hit it really hard. Kind of like a steering wheel

The flywheel nut is tightened to 300ft/lbs, with permanent loctite - so it's a PITA to get off.

I took a 4' piece of flat steel bar, drilled 2 holes in it, and then screwed it to the bottom of the flywheel. Now, with the engine on the ground, the bar stops the wheel from turning. A 2 1/8" socket on a breaker bar with piece of fence pipe on the end - and my 250lb *** was all it took. No heating/hammering.

Here's my artist's rendition: hope it helps!

(and yes I'm aware that in the pic I would actually be tightening the nut! Remember - installation is the reverse of removal!)

I think you mean removing two 12mm bolts on opposite sides of the COUNTERWEIGHT and then evenly "screw" them in with 2 long threaded bolts to pop it out like you would to a stucked brake rotor.
