I'm going to guess you're new to the internet because if you had just searched you would have found this.

1000 dollars for a rebuild kit to do it your self compared to a rebuilt engine sent to me for 1300. Seems there should be a cheaper DIY kit somewhere and I was hoping with the renesis coming into existance that prices would finally drop.

The $1000 mentioned for Rotary Resurrection is for the rebuild, not a DIY kit... While I haven't had an RR rebuild (yet), I've heard alot more positive posts here about his work than for the $1300 e-bay builder I'm sure you're talking about...
No disrespect, they may do great work...
But Kevin (Rotary Resurrection owner) is on these boards alot, giving help and answers not only to his customers, but to people who bought from someone else and had problems.
As far as the Renesis helping, it's too much of a different animal... From what I've read, other than the 13b designation and the displacement, (however you wanna figure it...), there's not enough in common to help us... Hopefully, I'm completely wrong on this...

If you're expecting to hop into the Rx7 world cheaply, you can forget it. Mazda is the only company in the world that makes rotary engines so very few other companies make parts for them.
If you want cheap, your best bet is to find an old engine with good compression and use it. You can get hold of another engine for under $500, how long it will last is unknown. A complete rebuilt engine is going to cost you close to $2K or more.
RR will rebuild YOUR engine, meaning you have to ship your engine to him first.
Remember though, these cars are unique. Unique things are not cheap.

On the other hand the basic seal (not including apexs) is probably around 4-500. Add the apexs, side springs, ect...
