Wouldn't the recirculating fuel system prevent vapor lock issues on it's own? People who have disabled the hot start system haven't had any issues that I know of.

Technically, if the fuel rail is hot enough, recirculating (hot) fuel through the rail might not be enough to prevent this from happening.

Personally, I pull the FPR solenoid and just run the vacuum line straight from FPR to vacuum source, and this works fine.
In effect, this eliminates this funky FPR operation on hot start.
