Angry Need To Get/Open the Trunk to My Vert Help Needed Thanks

I had my vert parked on base, somebody broke into the trunk of my vert, stole my craftman tools.
  • The key to the trunk goes in and out fine
  • The key turns to the left and right fine
  • Problem, the key turns to the left and right but does not unlock the trunk
What I' am thinking is that the little plastic piece that jiggles the rod to the left and right is broken, can I get to the trunk to unlock from inside of the car?

I want to get it open so I can put some parts in there to take to seven stock on October 29th to sell, and most important fix the trunk lock...

any help any ideas would be greatly appriciated thanks

Get a boot to hop in the trunk with a torch and watch the mech. Or download the chassis manual and look at how exactly the lock mech works and figure out where the problem is.

On my coupe I had a stretched cable, easy fix slip a cable tie collar in behind the feral to act as a spacer, done.

you MAY be able to push the plastic liner into the trunk from inside the car, I know you can push it but what im getting at is it might end up cracking so try to push it near the ends were the clips are. From there you can reach in and remove the plastic along the back of the trunk and manually release the trunk from inside.

I had to do this once but it was over 10 years ago so im a little foggy but I definitely pulled it off.

I got the trunk open from inside the car by reaching to the back. Got the trunk popped, and the little plastic piece that holds the rod to twist and unlock the trunk is partially broken. I sprayed some pb blaster to free up some of the rust, and get the parts moving free...So for now it will work just for seven stock, and then back in the garage she goes...

Thank you guys...I left a 300 piece craftmans tool box in the trunk they took a majority of the tools and left some scattered in the trunk hahahaha...

Thanks guys
