The wiring diagrams clearly show the path of each and every one of the wires in those plugs and what they do in life.

See that FEM-01??? Those L/W, L/R, L, and L/Y on the left side of the plug are for WIPERS. So you go to the page dealing with WIPERS and figure it out from there.

Same plug.......see the B/W and W/B? Those are for the alternator on a non turbo car. Go look at the CHARGING page for what they do in life. On a TURBO car they are diff colors and have different functions.

On the right side of the plug you see the G, G/Y, G/B, GW??? Those are all cruise control related. See the appropriate page.

See the * (YW)?? It is for turbo only and it's water temp related. See the Combination Meter page for those. Not applicable for the non turbo though. No YW in that plug for n/a cars.

The B/R is PROBABLY for the sub zero system or START signal. I forget. The (GB) is for turbo only and is aux fan temp sensor wire. See page with the aux fan cooling.

I was looking at the FRONT harness side of the FEM-01 plug when writing the above.

Any wire with ( ) around the colors is PECULIAR to TURBO cars. N/A won't have those color wire in those spots.

ON the FEM-02.........both.those B/Y are power to the fuel injectors. Both B/W are for feeding the solenoids on the engine 12vdc. The B/R is for the sub zero. G/B is aux fan. The B/W just above a * is the START signal to pin 3B of the small ECU plug to let the ECU know the engine is being started.

Anyway, those I mentioned above was when looking at the half of the plug connected to the FRONT harness. They mate with the other half of the plug that is on the EMISSIONS harness half of the plug. That's what FEM-01 or FEM-02 represent. FRONT TO EMISSIONS (FEM).

Anyway, it's like FOSSIL said, you have to look at each page and find the reference designators FEM-01 or FEM-02 on each page and then find out what each wire does in life. There's no sense looking at a page that is for THEFT PROTECTION or RADIO or GOOBER SET. They have nothing to do with running the engine.

And if you have a TURBO emissions harness and are mating it to a NON TURBO Front harness, take note of those wires with the ( ) around them. Those are TURBO specific and the non turbo car harness will have different colors there with different functions.

A good example is FEM-01. See the B/W just above the W/B. Those are for the alternator on a non turbo car. On a TURBO car those wire colors are BR/R and BR/B if i remember right. Those are for the boost sensor output signal to the boost gauge and the gnd signal for the boost gauge. Totally different functions. So if you mate a TURBO EM harness to a non turbo FRONT harness...........things ain't a gonna work just riight.

If your mating a JAP EM harness to a non turbo FRONT harness..........got me what you do. Don't know a thing about JDM harness'es.

Anyway. listen to FOSSIL and you won't go wrong. And look at the pages for FEM-01, FEM-02

Since you brought it up...
I've struggled for months with my GOOBER SET adjustment and it still throws a code.
Any suggestions?

Page 50-121 CLEARLY shows how to install a jumper wire b/t the G/R and Br/W wires for the GOOBER SET to work in North America vs Asia (no jumper required in Asia).
