Youre a tard

You dont even know what is a good year for an FC and you already think your just gonna drop in a 20B? Go back to your hondas Or drop that "Im a badass" attitude, admit you dont know **** about these cars, and start over.

Tons of knowledge to be had from this forum ... But none from me if you have an attitude.

There's an article about a 3-rotor FC in the latest Super Street.

A little tidbit for you....it cost him around $50,000 to get his car to where it is now.

ohh thanks well i was just planning on getting the engine and swapping it how much does the triple rotary engine cost new or used or am i better off just keeping the stock double rotary engine but all the ones i see for sale have about 70 80ks on it and thats the lowest i can find ok but ill rephraze the question which is the best year 2nd gen to mod with say a t64 turbo intake exhaust intercooler etc which year when moded will give me the best performance ? thanks for the advice : )

Man, there's a LOT of work and money that has to go into a 20b conversion. This isn't something you can just swap out in an hour or two with a few sockets and some pilers.

Unless you've got extensive rotary knowledge, and a lot of spare time and money, stick with the 13b for now.

'87-91 offered the TurboII, which had the 13BT turbocharged engine. Buying a TII is far simpler than buying an N/A FC and putting in a turbo.

Rotaries are also quite reliable engines when they are properly cared for. Don't let the mileage necessarily scare you off. If you find a car from a decent owner, have the engine compression checked, etc, you should be ok. There are FCs out there in amazing condition, you just might have to look a little harder to find them.

Like it's been suggested, run some forum searches. Your questions have been covered before and you'll likely find an abundance of info. Good luck.

When it comes to power, its all about TUNING.

Its not what car you start out with. Anything can be made fast. Just read up ( a lot ) and find a cheap TII and get to work.

It's really difficult to give any sort of estimate regarding horsepower....especially when dealing with a turbocharged car.

It all depends on what you do to the car, which parts/companies you use to do it, how well the car runs, etc.

To be honest, I would say that before you start getting super concerned with maximum power you can get out of the car, you should read up on the rotary engine itself, first. Take a look at the rotary writeups at www.howstuffworks.com and www.rotaryengineillustrated.com

And you really should search the forum. There are plenty of people here who could answer your questions far better than I can, but they likely won't just because they've been asked so many times. Try searching for "TurboII mods", "13BT engine", "TurboII engine", etc.

Yep. Find a TurboII that has been cared for and is in overall good shape.

www.racingbeat.com specializes in RX-7 and Miata performance parts. They're expensive, but their stuff is top of the line.
www.mazdatrix.com has some great stuff too.

You can also click on some of the banners right here on the forum.

Most RX-7 books are out of print and/or hard to find. You can keep an eye on ebay auctions or book sites like amazon.com for used copies. Also keep in mind that books tend to fall out of date after a while and what applied when RX-7s first came out may not apply any more.

Many forum users here have excellent websites set up with how-to writeups and personal experiences and such. Search for some and you'll find plenty.

Miatas are awesome cars. I'd love to have an '01 LE. Turbocharged Miatas are beyond amazing.

No problem...I like to help out where I can. I actually don't have an RX-7 yet, unfortunately. I have a 1993 Ford Probe GT. My plan is to have an FC by the end of the summer. I'd like to be able to keep the PGT if possible, but I'll sell it if that's what I have to do to get my 7.
