In need of advice.......Bad.
OK,
Heres the deal. I'm in the Marines Corps, and just got home from being away for the past 6 months, and find out my dad let my at the time girl friend drive my only mode of transportation around (1971 240z) and she blew the engine to *****. I made a deal with a friend for a wrecked body of my old rex, and a good body with no engine in the bay. the wrecked car still runs, just won't go anywhere for reasons you shall not know. I am in dire need of a car, since I am finally home, but the only way I would do this is if I could do it fast. My friends think we could do it but I'm asking you guys. If I were to start friday night, would it be feezable(sp?) to have the entire engine, tranny, and drive shaft swapped, and have her running on sunday, so I could get her tagged on monday? I think its posible but never done a rex before. Its either a soul swap, or my 350 soul kill. I don't wanna do the 350, too much work.
peace,
Charles

Has anybody in your group done engine swaps before?
Do you have all the toold and equipment?
Air tools?
If you say yes to these, then I think you can do it.

The old wiring harnesses are brittle (fragile), they could screw you up.
Also have all new radiator and heater hoses, fan belts, etc ready.
Chasing them down at the last minute will kill your schedule.

Yes, I have done many engine swaps, just not 7 swaps, and have the right tools? I wouldn't ask if I didn't. The **** cost me enough, I might as well use it right? I didn't realize an engine hoist would cost so much until I bought one.
