Question Natural EGR... ?? What happens between exhuast and intake? Rotor face dips?

Ok, when the rotor is between exhaust and intake (like "reverse compression"), Doesn't exhuast gas escape through the little 'valley' in the rotor face and into the next (intake) chamber? Does this happen or am I missing something here...

actually what happens is that not all of the exhaust gasses go into the exhaust, therefore it leaves some in the chamber: natural egr
