na to TII swap...only 6psi???
hey guys i have a 90 gxl with a TII swap. well i finally got a boost gauge installed and im only pushing right under 6psi hauling ***.....all emissions are removed along with the boost control solenoid. it has a racing beat 3" exhaust(straight pipe). on my s4 with a 2.5" exhaust i was hitting 10psi all day. could it be a wastegate issue?

If its an S5 turbo swap - you may not experience boost creep with the more efficient wastegate and runing on the stock spring in the actuator.
6 psi is a GREAT place to start! When you add a boost controller, you will find it is so much easier to dial in exactly where you want without all the uncontrolled creep.

well i guess i'll just have to spend my hard earned money on a new manifold so i can run an external gate with a t3/t4 hybrid and we'll see how much that helps.....with a 3" exhaust i should be hitting 10psi easy.

maybe you HAVE a ported wastegate and you're just seeing stock boost.
Just because you're not overloading the wastegate doesn't mean you're not at full boost. Get a boost controller and set the it to 10psi and see if you still can't boost past 6psi.
