It is snowing like mad. We got about 6 inches last night. Right now I think it may be 20F. It was 10F this morning. But my vert stays in its garage while the evil white demons are falling.

I did a little equation and I figured out why I left the GXL out of the poll.

Same engine as the lighter models + more weight + AAS and all that other "usefull" luxury= not the ultimate NA FC.

ok, I know I'm alittle behind on this poll but here's what I think. I had an 87 base, but it had ac, rear storage bins, power sunroof and even power mirriors. I ripped out the ac and the air pump, put a bonez racing pipe and greddy cat back, intake, and 17" tires and wheels. I wieght in at about 2500lbs with 1/2 tank of gas and me in the car. the car was bloddy fast for an n/a. I raced alot of people with turbo's that didn't know how to drive them and kicked there ***. so my choice would be my old car!
too bad for all those peoploe that I beat because I now have a turbo to really kick there ***

It was not a Base model if it had power mirrors. Go read the option pages I listed.

You had a Luxury coupe. Not a base

The 87 had the 2nd revision of the idiot lights with the blue/white clock, came standard with the storage bins, didn't have the hatch glass hold down problems most of the 86 production did, and the revised Rad overflow under the hood (as well as other minor changes that they figured out after building 50,000 FCs in 86).

Hey Kevin,

Think of how much better you would have done if you had a 87 Sport!

Yo,

Hey, you're in Cotati! Why didn't you come up? Did you go to the Sears Point event? That's right next door to you.

We can always have the 2nd Gen NA Supah Battle-Oh! at some open track event or Auto X. I think that'd be cool!

In this corner, weighing in at....

*grin*

Yeah, I am only about 15 miles from Sears Point.

I have been working like a dog and haven't had much time. Now that I am done with current contract I will have some free time until late next month.

Let me know when your going again, you can try my 13BT 'vert and see what you think.

Ahhh! I'm allergic to turbo rotarys! *grin*

I'll keep my eyes open for open track events...

yeah I know what you mean, I have this perfectly good non-turbo S4 rebuilt engine just waiting for another Sport or 88 GTU shell, that I can use for events like that.

As much as I like the extra power of the 13BT in my 'vert I think next time I would just do a slightly upgraded intake and exhaust. See if I could get NA power around 180 Flywheel.

But IMO the NA is the best way for the light weight coupes.

DR. Ho's NA bridge port is the ultimate. 220 hp at the wheels, 19 mpg. quiet enough for cops.

I love my 87 Sport. All the muscle and none of the fat. Quick and agile. I've had this car for over 16 and it still brings a smile to my face when I drive it.

And I think the rubber tail is sexy. :-)
