You need the air pump to supply fresh air to the ACV if you remove it you run a chance of burning up your cat! But i just read you dont have a cat soo you can remove it if you want it will unclutter your engine bay and free up a belt.

If you remove it, don't forget to get a double pulley for the alternator. Running 2 belts to it will prevent the water pump from cavitating at high RPM.

Since you are going to be removing your Air pump there's two ways of going about this. 1 block off your ACV, make sure you have a way to activate the 6PI, or two cut the hell out of the lower intake manifold and weld in the holes like aaron cake did. If you're keeping your ACV for whatever reason you should probably get a big rubber/silicon cap to put over where the hose fed from the airpump to the ACV.

Blocking off the ACV on an S4 will not affect the functioning of the aux ports. They use back pressure from the exhaust to open.

Correction they are activated through exhaust velocity not back pressure

yes the avc block off plate has to be air tight. other wise you will have a vaccum leak and you car wont run worth a ****.
if you decide to make your own plate, then you should buy some gasket material and make your oun gasket and use some gasket sealant to make shure it is air tight. other wise you car will suck in air that is not metered (i cant spell) and will not run well.
hope this helps
