Dude please stop posting on this post i took them out cuz one was missing and it looked ugly, besides i hardly ever see rx's around here with ftp lenses anyways cuz they usually fog up or brake or fall out. and the thing about it wont work yes it will work mabe not *** efficently as if there where a box but it brings colder air into the intake, before it was just sitting in my engine bay sucking in just hot air so yes it works get your **** stragth and stop saying it doesnt work there is air from the outside being pushed into the filter i dont car if its a low pressure zone eather low pressure doesnt mean no air hits it, its acting like a scoop drawing in air. and besides im working on making a box made of tin its just takin a while cuz i have other things to worry about on my car. and about my puncuation why do you care anyways who the hell comes on a thread making fun of someone for punctuation anyways its not school the internet has many abreviations that no one would ever write on paper. and you saying your trying to help me no your not your telling me to put my intake to how it was before in the sitting in the bottom of my engine ba sucking in nothing but hot air at least how is it now its getting colder air and the cold air is being pused twards the intake. and sure you told me my shroud helps suck in air at low speeds but man i alrady new that if i was having major problems with over heating here in texas where its hot it would be back in but i makes it alot easer to do stuff in your engine bay with it off right now. i was just simply saying that this is about my intake and has nothing to do with the shroud so get over it ill do what i wanna do you can do what you wanna do thats fine but i dont need to hear **** from you about how everything im doing is wrong have you gone out ant tested a what i have done No have you ever tryed it No have you personaly looked at it no you didnt so dont tell me im wrong man.

ahah...

what IS that big mess of words you just made?!

NZConvertable is one of the most helpful people around here. this place would suck without the likes of him around.. its things like this that discourage 'the greats' from posting at all, which is sad to say.

do you understand what constructive criticism is?

its US telling you WHERE you went wrong, so that you may IMPROVE upon it and come back to us.

and FACE IT. you NEED the shroud. do you know how the fan works? watch it when it runs. the way the blades are oriented, they 'scoop' the air and fling it backwards, thus providing circulation.

without the shroud, you are circulating all the air in the centre of the engine bay instead of having the shroud force it to 'scoop' the air thats coming from the rad.

seriously man. you need to relax, accept criticism NOT as flames, but as HELP!

Blazin If you don't have an aftermarket temp guage I would put on the shrowd. That is where you went wrong. Like you said it is a simple concept. Withought that shroud your fan is not doing what it is supossed to.

this is one of the funniest posts i think i have ever read. anyways just put the shroud back on so we can all shut up. secondly, yes the sleepy eye does help bring in cold air, but it is very minimal and not really worth it with out the cold air box. Next if all the 7's in texas have no FTP, then the must be a FTP thief goin around and taken them all. find some in a junk yard and put them back in.
Lastly, yes this not school(,) but we would like to know where your thoughts end and begin(,) so use some periods and commas(.)

You want to know where you went wrong? Read NZConvertible's post - I added it to the bottom of this post. He knows what he is talking about - you are sucking in hot air, and the fan is pretty useless without the shroud.

Sorry, but that just looks like the headlights are broken, and the FTP lenses have fallen out.

Plus at low speed you're just sucking hot engine bay air. At least put a heat shield in there.

BTW, without the shroud, the fan will just be blowing air around the engine bay. It won't be pulling any air through the radiator. Put it back on or keep a very close eye on the temp gauge when stopped...

Your filter isn't going to be sucking in just air from your headlights and FTP lense area, it will suck in some of the engine air also if you dont construct a box to shield it from the hot air.

Also, anyone wanna sell me a fan shroud? I bought my 7 without one and I haven't had any problems of overheating, but it seems i need a shroud

I agree with NZ. It looks like the lights are broken and the lenses fell out. I know you took them out, but it looks bad because there is this gap with screw holes in it. That means that something belongs in the hole but the owner was too cheap to replace what ever it was when it fell out. That is the image it gives. It looks ghetto. You can buy a headlight panel like this

Looks better and looks more functional.

As far as the fan shroud issue, they all just want you to know that it isn't good to drive without it if you are using the stock fan. Don't get all bent out of shape about someone giving you advice. They were being nice enough to mention it in case you didn't know. Nobody wanted to hear about your car over heating or anything like that. You may want it like that, but it isn't normal so they are telling you.

Black13B I posted the pic to show the intake get off my *** you know exacly why i posted that pic and everyone here is smart enugh to figure that out.

88integrale exacly, what the hell is the poin of this constant ripping on me cuz of my shroud

BRAZHtm i sayd it wasnt sucking in as much hot air never sayd it wasnt still suckin it in and i also sayd right now i am making a home depo box right now and also i have an extra shroud from my parts car if you want it

Project84 i am cheep thats the whole point of my car cheep modifications like $100 used exhaust/intake, $35 fiero fan, $0 Gutted cats, $0 fabricated egr blockoff plate, $0 removed power stearing $4.50 Air Box, and if you cant tell i bought the car with a wreaked front end where i had to weald a new cross member in(pic with the shroudless fan) and i have a few more things im about to do like i made a plate for my acv valve to remove my air pump. i bought the whole car for $250 not running and wreaked and now runs and looks decent. im sorry if i cant afford more expensive modifications but im just out of high school getting a house and going to college i need money im workin with what i got.
i know they where trying to tell me its not good for it but read my second post where i clearly sayd im going to put it on that should have settled it right then and there thats why i sayd it.

basicly dude.. i can see why your getting pissed... but i guess i have to add my s cents to the whole thing.

I ran without a shroud for a few days when i was in the proccess of installing an electric fan, and with an aftermarket guege it was alot hotter and got alot hotter when sitting.

Some people like the ftp out and some like them in dont worry about it.

some people like sleepy eyes some dont.. dont worry about it.

a more functionaly system would be a cold air box... it cost me nothing to make a box.. just found some sheet metal laying around.
