Is my tps broken?

Okay when I start up my car it usually revs to 3k, holds for a few seconds then drops to 1k. (Yeah I know that's normal) Here's the deal though: Every now and then after I let the car warm up for 5 minutes or so the car will drop idle to 600rpms. It will bounce from 500-1k from time to time. Now today and yesterday I started the car up and it did the same 3k deal then dropped to 2k. It stayed there for 5 minutes and on and on...I was getting worried since the hot side of my turbo was getting a amber tinge to it at the crease. So like someone told me I went to adjust my tps ( I hope thats what its called) The idle adjuster that you adjust with a flat head. I turned it all the way to L (lean i think ) And nothing changed. The idle remained at 2k. So I turned it all the way to R (rich i think) and still. NO CHANGE. I figured I would take my car out on the highway so my tmic could cool the turbo a bit and when I came home the idle was still at 2k....any ideas?

Did you mess with the variable resistor??? mmmmmmmm if yes, you shouldn't!!!

idle ajusting screw can be found on the BAC valve, on the UIM.

But if its your TPS that needs to be set, there is an enormous amount of threads and links related to this subject
