Ooooh, nice!

I don't know much about SCing an FC; Is it running now? or is there still work left to do?

You're using a TII hood, right?

How much did the SC setup cost you?

cool. This is the 3rd or 4th one I've heard of.

So far the previous ones did not seem to be very cost effective so I'm very interested to see what your HP and TORQUE numbers will be and how much money you will spend to complete the project.

As of now I think the most cost effective way to make a 7 faster is the turbo swap unless you show decent power gains at a reasonable price (when comapred to the TII motor swap). Keep us posted please.

Very nice. Originality, fabrication and completion. Things not often found in an FC I like it!

That's some awesome work! Any more details on the project like the type of bower, estimated power output, etc.?

Also, you have a PM...

No, it’s not running yet, I need to hook up a few more pieces. The super charger is a Camden and the kit came on the car. This car is from a very smart forum member who used to have a very fast White and Green Rx2 with a large Godzilla on the side aka Trainwreck. When I got the car it had the super charger on it, but was also running the stock ecu and a safc2, so that was the first to go. I wanted to learn more about stand-alones so this is is how I'm doing it, it’s kind of a steep learning curve but is also easier than I first thought. This project has given me the courage to tack on more and get my rx2 done. As far as price I don’t know, I probably spent around 4 k for the car and it has a lot of **** on it. About the only thing I could do to it suspension wise would be to probably install sway bars, so I have spent maybe another 2k so far for the stand-alone and other miscellaneous parts. As far as horse power and torque number I'm hoping for whatever, as long as she runs I will be happy. I have a few other toys a turbo2, an Rx8, and an Rx2 which is my next toy to go under the knife.

No T2 hood, the air filter is there for now, after I get it running it’s going down to a buddys shop and he is going to weld me up a nice CAI.

When she is running I will make sure to get videos and lots of pix.

A Roots supercharger is designed for low boost (6-8psi) and is about 10-20% less thermally efficient than a turbocharger. The reason why a Roots supercharger does not appear cost effective is because it isn't. The advantages of a Roots supercharger are a very "connected" feel between throttle and boost, cool noises, and a unique look. Those who are only concerned about hp, torque, and boost need to stick to their turbos.

Superchargers tend to feel like a more natural extension of the original power band, just much greater, if I'm not mistaken; At least the roots types.

That -5 pulley will give about 7 lbs of boost. The optimum pulley is the -7, it'll push 9-10 lbs boost. I've used the 6,7,8 and 10. Any smaller and you start building too much heat, common roots issue. Love the efi setup! Carb hat is not gonna work, been there done that, BDC as well. It will fall on it's face (literally) at 6000 rpm. You need an open element filter. Looking forward to seeing what you get out of it with the standalone. What porting does the engine have? Good luck with the completion, post your results. And for the s/c haters, yeah we know a turbo will give more net hp, the s/c does give a cool sound and better yet the torque and driveability is great. But yeah, yeah, we've heard the turbo will do more over and over. The attached pic is my failed carb hat and filter and she was way bigger than yours.
