My steering wobbles during a slight right turn
88TII
My steering wobbles pretty bad when I make a very slight gradual right turn at around 55 to 60 mph (it feels like a problem with the left front wheel). At first I figured that my tires were unbalanced because they were pretty worn. However I recenty got 4 brand new tires and the problem still exists. The next thing I did was to check the front hubs. I repacked the bearings and tighted the hubs and still this problem exists. Any ideas of what might be causing this? Is this a problem with the steering rack?
thanks

Unbalanced tires wouldn't affect just a turn, it would affect straight line shaking after 45-60mph and cornering at those speeds as well. You could have a bad inner or outer tie-rod on either side if it's just on right turns. Jack up one side at a time, push the top of the tire inward repeatedly and check for excessive play, then push/pull the tire at 3 o'clock position with right hand and 9 o'clock position with left hand and feel for excessive play. It never hurts to have another person underneath the car looking for loose parts while doing this. Good luck.
