my paint, ruined??

So last friday i parked my car outside work as usual. They have been doing some work on the building next door but nothing ever happend. Untill friday. So i leave work, i notice theres some sort of dust on my car, pretty much covering the entire car even vertical surfaces. I waited till i got home before i tried washing it off since i dident even have any wiper fluid even to spray the windows. when i got home, i found basiclly i found that i couldnt wash any of it off. I even tried to use gas to try to remove the stuff from the windows but that dident even work. The only way i found i could remove some of the stuff is by scratching it away with a credit card, but im only willing to try this on the windows.

this is what i have tried so far:

Superclean brand cleaner
cleaner wax
gas
good old car soap
and a high pressure washer at a quarter carwash.

i think i might try a clay bar next. But im definitely going to find the company responsible for this. anyone got any ideas? the substance seems to be like melted pastic or glue!

This is the orginal paint and it was in great shape, and i just freeking got this car a few months ago! so this is the "first bad thing" to happen to it.

If you cant get it out, or it comes out flawed... Get a new paint job at the expense of the morons who ruined it.

Get a lawyer

you definantly need one to pursue the company.

They likely will deny responsibilty unless you threaten legal action.

Good luck!

try having it buffed out at a detailer, and then send the bill to the construction company. They won't like it, but especailly if it has happened to someone else, they'll have to believe you

Yeah... you shouldve went and found a manager or something, and showed them. Definately call a lawyer asap, because the longer you wait is the greater chance you wont get anything. Better be safer than sorry.

Before you try removing it, TAKE PICTURES!!
Try and take a bit of it off, and keep it in a container. Keep it as evidence.

Try gently using fast orange to remove the stuff with soft, cloth, then have the car buffed. We use this on our boat and jetski's and it always seems toremove the crud, after sitting in saltwater for a while.

It's probably just paint. Tar remover should take it of since it really isn't bonded very strongly to your clear coat.

I just tried bug and tar remover and that didnt work. I tried some aceatone on the windows, didnt do anything. tried some other paint thiners too, no good. After using gas, i didnt think any of those would work anyway. only machincal force can take it off so far. I even tried putting some of the dust i got off in a container and putting a solvent in with it. So far nothing has had an effect on it. I think it might be concrete powder.

I just got a clay bar, ill try that tommarow. I think this will work.

Yep, the clay bar worked. The thing is amazing. It leaves the paint so smooth it has to be seen to believe. I recomend a claybar to anyone whos paint isnt in the gratest of shape.
