2 1/2" after the collector. 2 1/4" is still too small. 2 1/4" max through each muffler after the Y-pipe is fine.

go to a muffler shop and get them to weld it in with pieces of steel about 1 1/2 inch away from the floor pan. shouldnt cost all that much, and itll stop the knocking altogether

I don't have to worry about the welding we have a wire and a stick welder, and even though I can't weld worth crap my brother and step dad are good welders. I have all the tools I need to do it I just don't have hte muffler and all the piping.

If that RPM muffler is rattling, it's due to the stuffing being blown out of it. I thought for sure I had burned out the perf core as well, but when I looked inside it was all intact. There was just nothing on the other side of the sheet and light passed straight through the muffler.

Search for my thread about the Edelbrock RPM muffler if you want to see pics of what these things look like when used as a front muffler. It ain't pretty!

Mine sang like a fat lady in opera @ 4K. The flat surfaces of these mufflers resonate very efficiently when they've been freed of their stuffing. Seriously loud and unbearably annoying to say the least. I also can't imagine these things flow for **** when the packing has been burned out. Lots of turbulence in there.

Crawl under the car and tap the muffler if you think it has puked its guts. She'll sound like an empty coffee can.

I don't remember that many people from his house. I'm sure you did introduce your self, I might be set apart in someones mind because I asked a couple of people what was wrong with my car, and most everyone said it was leaky fuel injectors. But my memory is about as long as a ugo. Yeah hopfully I will get enough money out of the cans that are on my car that I can buy a spintech muffler, and the headers and flanges I ordered should be at my door step by tommorow. So maybe I can start putting these things together.

i am ditching my current set-up and going with a slightly different muffler and set-up, i ordered the stuff. until i get it on the car ill just tease everybody and say that it has the weight and power of a single collected with whatever advantages a dual has.

aurally pleasing i hope and i think the new muffler may handle stuff a little better

plus it leaves the door open for a bunch of different set-ups.

ill get pics of the current set-up thursday morning at school
