well i finished up my exhaust the other day...
i used racing beat road race headers, custom 2x2" to 1x3", edelbrock tru-flo muffler 3in 3out, exits in front of the passenger side rear tire.
all i have to say is DAMN this is loud. at idle it sounds like a V8 and after 4k it sounds like a ducati with exhaust mods. i have to baby it around town so not to kill ears.
i still have some problems with my set-up though and i was hoping to get some advice.
basically the setup is unsupported except for a hanger right at the tip. the muffler touches the floor pan and at idle it bangs on the floor. i need some type of high temp insulation/padding top put on top of it so i can firmly affix it to the underbody. anyone know of a material for this??
any body got any good advice. ill try to get pictures tomorrow. id like to get sound but i dont know how.
Justin

Anyways, Justin, I think any good auto shop should have some exhaust heat wrap, thats about the only material i could think that would withstand the abuse you are asking it to. Good luck, i bet that **** sounds awsome.

what you could do is to cut the floor out in the offending area and build: weld-in another section of floor.
Better yet: Use oval tubing to give you more clearance

I had that
My set up was bout the same.
Except right at the flange (where the precat meets the rest of the pipe) I put on an all steel resonator and pipe.
I used a flat tip. kinda like the ones used on the new Camaro's
When I boosted it sounded like a jet taking off. whooooooooooosh. But the odor started getting to me (only a precat) and where I commute to work there are the barrier walls that rebound the sound.
Deafing to say the least. when i body kit my fc I'll have it done again but like the Saleen Mustangs

thats why you are not supposed to use an air gun to blow out your brake stuff when you change them, cuase most (no so more these days) brake pads contain asbestosis, and it gets in the air you breath it ect.... ya learn somethign new everyday
