My Freakin Cluster Melted!!!!

WTF!!

I am about to cry.....

It was supposed to be a simple TII swap....Tried my starter, connected the wire to the wrong starter poll and my speed cluster melted!! Why the hell did that happen?!

Is my ECU fried too?

And now that my starter is plugged like it should be, it doesn't turn. My flashers dont work anymore. My center consol does not light up...

Well, simply put, all that works is my head lights...and brake lights.

Experts only please.

Logicaly, the car uses the ground the closest to the activated source, so, the only explination I see about this is that it used the steel wire for the speedometer as a ground...But why the hell did it do that since the ground is just behing the starter on the bolt that holds in the tranny and the starter?! And, is that even possible?

Check your underhood fuses as well as the ones inside your car. I almost did the same thing as you, cept I had a 200amp breaker installed on my battery so that tripped before anything happened.

I think this would be the most reasonable time say "**** it" and go grab a STACK cluster... you know you want to!
