my first boost leak, right?
i did a search and didnt find what i was looking for.
anywho, saturday night i realized that my clutch engages at a much higher height then normal. 2-3 inches depressed to be exact. im not sure if its the boost leak, but maybe has to do with loss of power?
i lost all boost power basically. i would be cruising, and try to get into some PSI and the car would just rev up as if it was in neutral.
is this a boost leak exactly? im not so sure, ive never experienced it.
i havent done anything to resolve it as of yet, i had a hard time getting home from school today cause of all the hills here.
im going to look into it tommorow. what should i be looking for? wastegate? loose piping? vacuum lines?
thanks for the help

i don't understand how the clutch engaging could possibly have anything to do with a boost leak. You may want to check your clutch cyllinder fluid and also the pedal adjustment. The boost leak is most likely a separate issue.

I'd look into the clutch, if the car revs too fast the turbo won't spool (this is why it's hard to boost in neutral, there's no load) so if you're clutch slips enough you won't boost. Does the car still accelerate when this occurs or just rev up?

this happens at any RPMs and any gear.
when the clutch slips, what happens exactly?

your clutch is definately slipping. When the clutch slips it means its not holding power. It tries to grab but it is to worn to get a firm grip and it slips loose.
Sounds like you need a new clutch.

ACT seems to be the favorite of most members. How much power are you making?

did this all start to happen really quick? because if it did the clutch may have just been very hot. It is still probably a good idea to replace it but if it was just hot you may still be able to drive it for awhile.

Replace or rebuild your master and slave cylinders while you're at it, relace the hose too. You don't need to abuse your new ACT with a weak hydraulic system. Trust me, many of my friends have done it, only to buy a new clutch WAY sooner than they should have.
