My FC got broken into Sat night BAD:(
Those conscienceless ******* got me bad. They smashed my hatch and pass window. They stole my
Carbon Fiber stereo surround
N2O fighter switch
SAFC(didnt take the harness rendering it useless)
5.5" monitor
PS2
Excellon cd deck
12" aluminum cone Eclipse sub
VCR
power invertor
500W amp
PS2 games
I did the math and not including the value of install or damage to the car itself(glass) they stole 2090$ worth of my stuff!! I have 800CC secondaries so I cant even drive it without my SAFC. How do people like this sleep at night?
On top of that the reason my car was left in a vulnerable location was due to a flat. Also my turbo died on Friday which led to the flat tire(long story). Will somebody please come and smash the body panels so I can just cal it a total loss! 3 days ago my car was perfect. Now Im about 3K in the whole. ALSO I just relocated my speedshop which left me way in the financial whole. FUUUUUUUUCK!!!
The only good to come of it is that this is a good reason/time to strip the interior totally and stitch weld the whole chassis, remove all sound deadening and paint the bare metal. Also now I can make my Carbon Fiber dashboard without worrying about rewiring everything.
I have no leads on who would have done this. I think it was just a random greedy *******. Thanks for listening

Yo,
Bro, lots of people have talked **** about your car, maybe rightfully so, but I'm sorry your stuff got jacked. It shouldn't happen to anyone, getting stuff stolen is just pure BS, people should be better than that.
Weaksauce.

Ah, man that sucks Fred. People who don't respect other people and their property are the WORST!
Your vehicle was a showcase for the products your speed shop sells; make sure that any business insurance you might have does not cover this before you spend any of your own money replacing everything.
Good luck fixing it up again. Now you can get those lexan windows and hatch :-). Ian

Observation..........
It sure is a good thing all of that stuff sitting loose in the back of your Rex, not installed in our Rex. It's really too bad that all of that stuff, INTENDED to be installed in your Rex later that week, was being kept in your Rex.
Since there were NOT installed in your Rex, it would be covered by your Home Owners insurance. Most of the stuff you indicated normally ISN'T covered by auto insurance. So, it's sure a good thing they weren't installed yet.
But, the factory sterio WOULD be covered. You know, the factory radio you WERE going to replace later that week with the radio you had in the box in the back. Have you priced what a factory radio from the dealer would cost? Probably about as much as your auto insurance deductable for having the damage to your Rex repaired.
So, gather your receipts. Hopefully, the replacement value given will exceed the your actual cost of replacement (given the connections you have) by about what your Home Owners deductable is.
Boy, it's sure a good thing you hadn't installed that stuff yet. Huh.

i got myself in the same situation once and found out that my insurance wouldnt cover 2500 bucks worth of "aftermarket" equipment...so i decided to strip the whole interior and list every single factory/oem replacement. you know how much the complete carpet for an rx-7 costs? not to mention a complete set of interior hatch plastic...plus the hatch cover alone costs more from the factory than your deductable. add up the little push tabs to secure everything. have you ever priced a brand new factory headliner? very expensive.
do what i did....if they wont cover you.....make them cover you..have everything stolen listed by the cops. add up your losses. then proceed to gut your entire interior before the insurance guy comes to take pictures. youd be suprised how much you can get for things sitting in a friends garage.
insurance is a fraud..thats why they say that your rates go up so they can cover loss caused by fraud..same as bookies. if you are running a scam on someone and they try to run the same scam on you.....you see it coming and protect your best interests....if you run a scam on 10,000 people....you protect yourself, before they can scam on you X 10,000....
bookies never lose...loan sharks never lose....used car dealers never lose......insurance companies never ever lose, but if you turn their terms around and shove em up their asses...you might break even!!
the opinions expressed are not the same as the poster's or, for that matter, the same as the website hosting the post!!
do the right thing use insurance as an investment, and get a return on your investment buddy!!!! they wont cover 1 thing that is not factory on your car, but because of this rule..they have to cover EVERYTHING that came on the car out of the factory....have some fun and be creative..you may get a fd!!

Fred,
I feel for you man. Was all of the stereo/video equipment installed in your car or not? Do you have receipts of the merchandise and pictures of your interior before and after?

Just keep in mind...
that the primary reference point of it being a total or not is THEIR concluded value of the car.
So, search Auto Trader, etc. for TII's IN YOUR AREA (very important as out of area comparables don't count) with highers asking price you can find.
If you can justify a, say, $5,000 value, then the "totaled" threshold would be $3,750 (75%). If $6,000, then the threshold would be $4,500. Etc, etc.
And, the comment about factory vs aftermarket parts is correct. Factory parts will can be replaced, aftermarket won't. Screwy guidelines, but those are the guideleines you have to deal against.
Good luck!!!
