My check engine lamp came on at 2000-2500rpm
I own a 1989 Mazda RX7 GXL (s5 n/a) automatic.
While I was driving, my check engine lamp came on. When I reevs up my engine in N the check engin lamp dont came on.
I took a diagnostic test at Mazda, and they told me that it probably was a bad O2 sensor. They didnt mangae to read any trouble codes.
I have changed my O2 sensor, but still the same problem.
I tryed to read out the codes myself, but the check enginelamp didnt blink i stayed on!!
I did follow this instructions: http://www.johnr.com/cpucodes.html
Can anyone please help me?
I'm sorry my english is bad

I have Oil pressure!!
I have Oil pressure!! At idle it's around 30 and when driving it's about 45 in the instrument panel!!
But I think it's the AFM.. Only a feeling I have.
Any ideas how I can fint out if the AFM is working normal?? I know that if it's all dead my car wont start or will die after a few seconds!!

When you turned the ignition to on with the single green test connector grounded did you hear this clicking sound you normally dont hear? If you didnt hear that click I would check again to make sure the green test connector is securely grounded.
I think it may be the OMP again also. Does it rev over 3k or just bog like crazy? If it does bog above 3k try disconnecting the negative terminal on the batter quickly and then trying to rev past 3k again. When my OMP went out if I disconnected the battery and then reconnected it the ECU would reset and I could drive normally for a minute or 2 until the code popped back up.

I hear this clicking yes, and the cooling fan(oil) infront starts!!(Is this correct, shall this fan starts?) When I pull the code, CHECK lamp is on and disapers for about 2sek and came on again, but didnt blink!!! On friday I will loan a diagnostic tool from Mazda to se if that will help me.
In N everything is normal, but when it's in D it go in to "limp mode" when I get over 2k.

Wait, when you drive, your oil pressures jumps to 45? At idle, I'm at 30, and while driving, I'm still at 30. i always thought driving at 30 was normal/good. Is it not normal to have an oil pressure of 30 while driving?
