My car hit 100K!!!
To my amazement my 88 GTU made it to 100k about 5 minutes ago.
I bought the car in November with 82K on it.
So far it has a bad 2nd gear syncro and runs 17's and has a weird clicking noise from the front and floods almost every time I start it.
Other than that It runs great. ?
I think I'll treat it to some premium gas tomorrow for it's present.
I'll be selling it soon in the hopes of getting a TII though.
This car has too many problems for all that great non existant power.

putting it down daily
Dude- your car is an N/A- it LOVES the cheap gas.
Welcome to the hundred-grand club.
My 88 vert (see avatar) is now pushing 133,000 and she runs like a top. Thanks in part to meticulous maint. by previous owner (i got her at 120,000) and some MMO in the tank. If you want to give the old N/A a treat, drop 6oz of the marvel mystery elixer in there. Not high test gas.

Heheh, My SE has 152,000 on it.
I do the MMO in my oil every change and in my gas every once in a while but I don't want to **** with it right now. Somehow the drive to Sevenstock fixed my flooding upon startup problem.
I guess my Rex just needed to go to the holy land of rotaries and renew it's faith.

Digi7ech, tell me more about this clicking noise. i just realized it on mine yesterday. does it happen at low speeds and when you brake or turn the steering wheel?
it happens when i do one of those(haven't figured it out yet)
does anyone else know about it?
clutch maybe?

No Jrat I hit 100K on the wednesday before SS6.
Umm Sir Rupert. I still have no idea what is causing it.
It clicks upon turning the steering wheel/applying brakes.
I am guessing strut top mount but am not sure about it. I am hesitant to replace it since I have t rent a spring compressor and pay $50 to buy a new strut mount from Checker.

A friend of mine and I decided to take a mountain drive a couple of years ago in my 88 GTU. Its about a 40 mile loop we drove on. During the drive my car hit the 100K mark. At 100,023 miles the radiator cracked but I didn't notice it. The car overheated only that once and sadly it died soon after that. Yea, welcome to the 100K club.

week-end car 3 years ago. I have put 3000 of the 129000
miles it has on it. Very rarely drive it until lately. in the
3000 mile I put on it I've put 3200.00 in repairs and it
now needs a clutch, which will push cost close to 4000.00

83K ON MY T2, although I'm scared that I may have hurt the engine, because it was 2 1/2 qts low on oil when I change the oil. I had a n/a dip stick as opposed to a T2 dip stick giving me false oil readings. go figure they are different
