Angry My car goes too slow !

Well i have a 90 RX-7 Auto. I know is an Auto. the five speed swap will come in a year or two. Anyways my prob. is that my car has almost no accelaration, i hit the gas, put my foot all the way down and the car goes doesn't respond. People out their with automatics know that this is a small button on top of the shifter to bust up the RPM's well i have to use that button all the time cuz the car won't respond if i have it off !!! i just wanna know what the F*&^* is wrong with my car and will the swap (Later in the future) will help my situation ?

Well if you just are not going into high rpm's when you want to then it is just because the tanny. I am guessing at least. Most older auto transmisions don't downshift like more modern cars. Do you have the problem from a stop? If you have a manual tranny you can redline all you want but you should be sure to have your engine checked to make sure there isnt anything wrong with it so the stress of high rpm's won't hurt it.

Maybe your actuators are screwed up?

If they are this would result in poor off the line performance.

Autos just suck in these cars. A manual swap would be on the top of my list if you planned to keep that car.

Look at the wiring open the 5 and 6th port thread at the top of the forum index. Maybe that will give you some ideas.

Hmmmm... sounds like you need some boost. I added a little boost to my car, and it really worked wonders.
