My car almost killed me!!!
I was approaching a busy intersection with a red light and my ******' throttle body locks at 4/5 throttle (I was passing someone). At least I thought quick and put the car in neutral and shut the car off... I was stuck at the intersection in the left turn lane trying to figure out WTF happened... It seems to be internal. Nothing seems to be blocking the external T-body mechanisms, but it's locked tight... It won't return to closed...
I had to start the car in gear and let it redline, pull the clutch lightly to get it through the intersection and shut it off and cruise home (only 1 block, thankfully).
I am thoroughly pissed at my Rex right now... It's nothing but trouble.

I know what you're getting at, Icemark... My engine is stock except for pinapple racing 5,6 sleeves. The t-body is untouched. I will take it apart tomorrow. I am too pissed to deal with it tonight.

well let us know... I haven't heard of it happening before unless the throttle body mod was done incorrectly or that the cold start idle cam was radically out of adjustment.

It happened to my firends 7. In hers it was the oil metering rod hanging up on something and not letting the throttle shut.
Unfortunately, she drove it like that for 3 or 4 miles in the city. Blew the engine, and cooked the brakes.. Hmmm

LOL. Haha. Hey PJ. Call me up and I'll give you a hand. you know my #.
you sure it isn't your throttle cable? we can take the manifold off and clean that SOB. It's a piece of cake.

Yeah happened to me too. I drive a 90 vert and there was this one time on the PCH that my throttle suddenly got stuck...the tach went up to 7k in neutral and forced me to switch off the engine.
Apparently this happens all the time to S13s, but this is the first time I've heard any other FC having the same problem.
