My brand new TII conversion died today.
She started pissing coolant today...after removing the undebelly and radiator panel, everything looks fine. Once the car builds pressure, coolant pours out of the over-flow so the coolant seals are toast even.
Here is the link for the sale of the car...I'm really bummed out but I can't afford to fix it now and new financial responsibilities mean the car would have to sit for a long long time. If you can pull/rebuild your own motors, this car is a steal for what it has and how clean it is.

my stepdad told me something about how sometimes radiator caps are shot and people think their engine is overheating (or something like this; i should have listened better). is this by any chance a possibility? if not, sorry man.

Anyone want an RE Amemyia Type IV replica wing? Never installed, would get me $250 closer to fixing the FC.
These days, my $ is being saved as my gf and I are going to move out in the next few months.

No necessarily. My old N/A was doing the same thing, once the car warmed up, coolant would pour from the overflow bottle. My heart about sank, thinking it was blown. Just to see what if.. I bought a new mazda thermostat, and rad cap, and after replacing them, the problem stopped. Put a few thousand miles on since.

Pull the EGI fuse, fill the coolant system, crank it over, get the bubbles out.
Now have a friend crank the car over, with the radiator cap off. Does the water pulse out? That would be bad coolant seals. Also you would notice white steamy smoke, or having to add water every couple of days.
Sounds more like a bad thermostat not opening and it building pressure and forcing it out the cap.

The car HAS no thermostat We took it out after the swap just to be sure I'd have no overheating issues. I was going to put one in when the weather got cold...
It's a very difficult day...I got a quote from J&R to fix it this morning, it's a very friendly price (they feel my pain). Who knows what's gonna happen hehe

Good Luck.. I agree with some of the others it very well not be that the engine is blown there are a number of causes for spewing coolant.
Check it out before you sell her.... she is too beautiful to get rid of!

so have you tried everything people have suggested yet?
coolant spewing out of the overflow tank doesn't mean ****. the radiator cap is designed to like open up once the cooling system gets to a certain pressure, and lets the pressure out into the overflow tank. if the cap were to fail, then it would be letting out coolant when its not neccesary, and would overflow the overflow tank.
I don't know about you, but I would be trying everything I could to make sure I knew exactly what the only problem could be, before I sold her.

HOLY ****!!!!!!!!!
Well, after searching around a bit I found this post:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...r+cap+overflow
Here is the long and the short of it, when I got the car back last week I drove it and everything was beautiful. I took it for a drive on saturday and when I came back I did the normal "car is back from the shop" cleaning. While at the shop for some mods, I had my friends install a radiator cooling panel. They cut a nice hole for the overflow bottle...BUT, the way it was sitting it was difficult to open the cap to the overflow bottle.
SO, stupid me switched the tubes on the nozzle of the overflow cap so the tab on the cap would be reversed and on a side that was easier to pop open. I had no idea the nozzles on the overflow cap were different and NEEDED to be in the correct order.
It seems that THIS is the entire problem since I didn't drive the car after switching the cap until today!! I'll take her for a spin tomorrow to confirm...
