my baby in progress
Ok, i got this 87 gxl for $650 bucks from some guy who didnt have the time to fix it. It was in a small accident that bent the frame slightly, i drove it to the shop without a front bumper, tags, or lights. it was pretty raggedy when i got it, and it looks worse now that i've dissasembled it, but it'll be on the road in a few weeks, which makes me sooo happy considering it has been sitting for like 3 months behind autoeurotech where I do airbrush work. The paint job won't cost me much$$$$, so i'm going all out, but the car will be a work in progress forever(but aren't they all). I love it, even if I can't drive it just yet... Here are some pics!

I'll post pics as I go along, paint is next, then wheels, etc... the list goes on and on. Anyway, feel free to comment, or give me any suggestions, and if there's anyone in the Md area that has a spare stereo surround or shift surround, give me a holler! Thanx for taking interest.

Brotha you got a fukton of work ahead of ya! But dont let me discourage ya! It could end up being one bad *** ride. I like the idea of trimming the mounling off of the car. It should look sweet.

I used a few different products, first "tiger hair"(a fiberglass filler), then more fiberglass, then a polyester glazing putty that doesn't crack like bondo does. we riveted in metal strips to cover where the side markers were so the filler wouldn't make it through the holes they left. The whole thing took so much time since there was a large area that had to be kept smooth, my only problem with the whole thing is that the bumpers still have the moulding on them, i cant figure out a way to hide it since the bumpers are urethane and if they flex, even fiberglass will crack. I did cut the grille out of the front bumper and round out the opening a bit for grille mesh. too broke to buy a kit just yet and have to make due with what I've got at hand. Any ideas on the mouldings?
