my 6port Turbo
#26
Hello everyone,
So let me start by saying what I have is a s4 6port na gxl, that i have finally turboed, which I have been wantin to do for the past 4 years. Life has been little hectic considerin I'm 20 got the car when 16, and been in college and bein an AF cop. Since this forum has helped me with a lot, i figured i would give back. Hopefully this will clear up any questions that a future potential 6port turboer may have. The list consists of:
s4tII intakes port matched for 6port block and tb
s5 turbo w/ manifold
s4tII secondary fuel rail
550cc injectors (for now)
n318 pressure sensor
n322 rtek 1.5
SAFC
550cc injectors (for now)
Racing Beat dp
Racing Beat oil pedestal sandwich
AEM wideband
Prosport boost gauge
TurboXS RFL bov
XSPower fmic w/ custom piping
all emissions blocked
ps, ac, air pump removed
mazdatrix oil level sender blockoff plate w/fitting welded for turbo return
some home depot couplings for fmic pipping as well
Koyo rad (not installed just yet)![Frown](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
mazdatrix stainless braided oil cooler lines (not yet either)![Frown](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
new vac, fuel, coolant lines !!!!
walbro 255lph fuel pump
other parts done over time:
energy suspension bushings
eibach pro-lowering springs
tokico blues
mazda oem clutch replaced
custom 2.5" exhaust back to N1 type exhaust
Koyo rad (not installed just yet)![Frown](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
mazdatrix stainless braided oil cooler lines (not yet either)![Frown](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
all new brakes w/drilled and slotted rotors
5zigen FN01RC's
short throw shifter
solid tranny mounts
New black paint job
Now the order i did things was so that the car would be down for as little as possible, being i am a very busy person with workin on base and school. First I did all the electronics, because they took so little time to do and i could drive after them being put on. First, already having ps and ac removed, I wired in safc, then boost gauge, then wideband (didn hook up sensor obviously). Second, gutted front bumper and bolted up fmic and ran piping (obviously to nothing...lol). Now the real project begins. Start the dismantle of the NA intakes. take all of it off till bare motor. Keep everything, cuz you may need to use bolts and nuts as I did. I retained the na primary fuel rail. Eliminate all the emissions crap, that big vacuum spider and those sensors connected to it. The only sensors you will have plugged in around the intake area at the end are tps, alt, iat, cas, na-maf and i may be missin some but pretty sure thats it. There are pictures that are easily found to explain emissions removed on intakes, so im not goin to explain those.
Turbo lines:
Water feed-rear iron
Water drain-lower heater hose comin off radiator
Oil feed-Racing Beat oil pedestal sandwich
Oil drain-mazdatrix oil level sender blockoff plate w/welded fitting
Also, intake gets bolted on first, made that mistake couldn get to lower 2 nuts with turbo bolted up first, also its easier if you bolt turbo to manifold first as well.
You can even retain your na throttle cable and just manipulate it to work as i did, and same with the omp connecting rod
I posted some pics, but I have a TON more, I am trying to post as many as i can, because I remember tryin to find all that stuff too. And if i am missin or forgettin anything I will post up when i remember to do so.

updates
so here are the updates...never actually got the idle down to where it needed to be only got as low as 2500rpm...also turbo has been smoking from the start and now is drippin oil from the manifold where the turbo bolts to it...while its running it does seem to run fine, no detonation, no weird noises or anything just smoke from turbo and high idle...so my near-future update list is as follows...
I am going to:
-just block off omp and premix
-blockoff oil level sender unit hole in pan where currently turbo drain is going
-tap front cover
-install 680cc injectors
-have turbo rebuilt
this setup i plan to have done by summer, done little by little due to school and work...and then just enjoy for summer and fall till December, then deployment and when i get back get a nice brand new beautiful 6port engine...anyway thanks to all who are interested in my project lol

Awesome thread!! Thanks for keeping us updated rxsiete (and good work man), i have all the parts i think i will need sitting in my garage, im just waiting to send my TII LIM to Japan2LA to have him 6port it for me.
Anyone know if it would be any more/less trouble to just change the front cover to a TII of the same series?

yes that is home depot lol,
AND on a totally different more tragic note, im pretty sure i blew a seal, I messed up with the safc(not reading instructions like a jackass and maxed out the + thinking it was adding fuel) also from the first drain setup going below oil level was not good and not havin stock water lines at the beginning kinked the drain, I did fix everything, but unfortunately i had it running way before fixing all that stuff for too long on the shitty setup, so future 6porters it is possible just read instructions and dont take any shortcuts, after tapping front cover, and stock water lines, and fixing safc, no smoke or anything, and had a nice drive till it kept wanting to shut off and dieing popped the clutch in 2nd like 3 times so i could finish around the block, and it wouldn start...so its all been stripped and im going to swap a s4t2 in...sorry fellow 6port turboers, i messed up somewhere, but it wasn the best engine in the beginning so i prob shouldv just swapped to begin with, but hey, it was a learning experience, now im goin to rebuild my na, and learn even more. so if anyone has a nice s4t2 engine forsale near DE or willing to ship pm...lol once taxes come...game on

drillbit size 37/64 for 3/8 npt tap then Jegs 45degree 3/8npt to 1/2" hose fitting
On a different note...I need help with what to do about the top nipple on the oil filler neck...I still have the carbon canister hooked up. Would a breather tank work on that nipple? I found one on Jegs part #(547-605-025-01). I just need to find out what to do about it. I dont whether to cap it, put it to a breather tank, or idk reroute or something...Help would be much appreciated...thanks
Also for an update...I was dumb and when we figured the turbo was blown, then found out engine was blown, we forgot/disregarded the blown turbo possibility, so now when everything was good, turbo was still blown lol, so now its gettin rebuilt and ported wastegate and done up real nice to match engine and everything. Should be getting back this week. So another update is not far off. Thanks for all that is following and hopefully this has helped some people.

Alright for some reason its back to lean again...dont worry i haven even tried drivin or movin it while runnin...I believe it went richer because the o rings leaked fuel all over everything...I have s4 na harness, emissions deleted, TII ecu afm and pressure sensor, brand new inj clips going to correct brand new injectors, walbro fuel pump, new fuel filter, have checked all that stuff and everything is working and has correct pressure...I just have no clue to why Its not getting fuel...with the emissions deleted, ps deleted, ac deleted, air pump removed, is there any other things needed to be done with extra sensors or something Im missing?! Iv been searching and I cant seem to find solution...I feel like its something electrical that is not telling the primaries to spray fuel...PLEASE ANY HELP!! THANKS!!
