We drive 80s sports cars and are worried about 14 bucks a month? Seems a little odd to me . I'm half kidding, I understand money issues, but thats the middle name for our beloved cars!
On topic: K&N works much better for my TII than anything else I've used.
From what I know higher oil pressure is a good thing, the meter is post-filter and measures how much is backed up before use. Lower means the filter is more restrictive, and higher means its flowing just great. Extreme in either direction can be bad, its good to run it at about what RPeck is ranging to and from. But then again, I don't claim to know everything and I could be wrong.

in the factory service manual it has like a bargraph type thing that shows you the best oil for the temperature in the area. I've heard that people will generally use 20w50 when it comes to be spring/summertime and switch down to 10w40 when it gets to be nearing winter time. It really just matters what the temperature is to determine what the best oil for your car is. Hope this helps... check out the fsm.
