Yeah so anyway I read this today, from the FAQ and...
What size injectors does my RX-7 use? What colour are they?
Year Engine Plug Size Colour Part #
84-85 13B NA, low square center, 680cc, orange, 195500-0900
86-87 13B NA, low square center, 460cc, red, 195500-1350
86-87 13B Turbo, low square center, 550cc, tan, 195500-1370
88 13B NA, high square offset, 460cc, purple, 195500-1350
88 13B Turbo, high square offset, 550cc, purple, 195500-1370
89-91 13B NA, high oval center, 460cc, red, 195500-2010
89-91 13B Turbo, high oval center, 550cc, purple, 195500-2020
And me injectors are red! Does this mean they were changed at some point since factory? I know they flow the same, it's like finding out who your girlfriend slept with before you... lol

Red injectors are NA injectors. Compare the part numbers printed on your injectors with the info in the FAQ. You DO NOT want to be driving under boost using NA injectors.
Edit...Some 720cc injectors are red as well. If you don't know, post the part number and I can look it up. The number should look something like "1995500....".

Well, It's raining and cold in here the northland... So I wasn't gonna take my car apart... Next best thing, I found by report card from Marren Fuel Injection last year... it says...
NipponDenso 195500-1370
avg C.C. of fuel per minute after cleaning and balancing
157.9
So, the part number seems to match up... Phew... You suppose mazda could made the 550s like green or something... Purple and red look similar I guess after 16 years of driving...

That's awesome! Not to get too off topic, but lots of weird things relating to my website have happened too me lately. People stopping me on the street, meeting people at the electronics store buyings parts for my circuits, stuff like that. Crazy.

Actually, I had the info posted a year or so before the faq on this site included it. Looks familiar, minus some editing.
"Year type impedance plug style plug notch position flow rating color part number
84-85 13B NT low square center 680cc orange 195500-0900

True, not that it matters in the least, but I love how mysteriously all of the information I post on my site winds up in other people's tech articles and faq's with no mention of where it came from...yet the info wasn't available anywhere before I made it so.

Well, it just show that you're really helping people! It's too bad though that credit doesn't always seem to fall where it belongs. But hey, that's a problem that Clark Kent, Peter Parker and Kevin Landers just have to deal with! lol...
Regardless, thanx for all your data compilations and tech articles. Helped me remove my emissions! And this too! ahem...

Then perhaps everyone should stop the confusion and not call them purple!

IF you look at both, you can make the argument that the NA's are actually an orange-red, while the t2's are actually a violet. Both could be called 'red" by someone who does not have the opposing set to compare with.

For the record, I got this information several years ago on the FC3S_ORG list. I believe it was posted by Dale Clark.
It's not like it's super secret information or anything.

I think the original picture was somewhat poor because of the backdrop skewing the color reference.
I have taken this picture to compare to red. The injector is from another car, and to the naked eye it is DEEP red, like an FD in VR. As is the top of the note pad. And the 88 turbo "purple" beside it. That color, whatever it is, is clearly NOT red. IT is too dark. True, it might not be fully violet, but it's closer to it than red. Perhaps burgundy. I believe if you follow the link you posted above to the color chart, "violet-red" comes pretty close.

And yes, it doesnt matter, I just find it odd that people were constantly asking me questions about this sort of info and no one could find any of it online, until I posted it, and then it pops up everywhere, yet it was supposedly "common knowledge" beforehand.
