Mugen Exhaust

Does anyone have any experience with the Mugen Twin Loop mufflers or exhaust?

Coming from a honda background I can say that the Mugen twin loop or really any twin loop of any quality is a nice design as it makes the exhaust note almost stock and increases performance (when paired with an apropriate exhaust system)

It's just a gimmick design.
Why not just use two mufflers?

There is an aftermarket company, OBX, that makes a Stainless Steel Mugen style twin loop muffler It is basically universal, and looks to be of high quality. The idea is a straight through muffler in a compact package. Mugen is a Honda specialist, but it seems like OBX is a copy of their design, They cost about $70 bucks each. That is another advantage.

OBX is not high quality, unless Rotas are better quality than Volks. Do what RETed said and get tow mufflers, or........leave it alone.

So what if they focus on hondas, they produce GOOD QUALITY products. If it works it works, it's a really practical design.

They produce good quality products for 4 cyl. engines operating at much lower temps. On a rotary, kiss it good bye.

Borla's are good, probably the best after market "weld up" muffler you can use, but I'm not a fan of welding things in to make it cheaper.

Borla makes, or at least made, a cat back system for FC, not just weld on mufflers, the quality is good but the tone is rather raspy and higher pitched, I had the cat back on a gtu.

As far as that twin loop gayness, don't they use 180 deg. Bends inbetween the 2 "cans" or mufflers? Can't see how that flows well.

So far as I can tell, Gayness is often describes someone who can't afford an S5, but will go out of their way to make an S4 look like one. Mugen only makes the Twin loop for the HIGH end Hondas. I know its hard to imagine, but the catback is somewhere in the $800.00 range as of Mugen's site, and offers huge response with decent power gains, at a near stock sound level. Uh, last time I checked S5 side moldings and tail lights wont do that for you.

I can't afford a 15 year old s5, okay, my daily driver is a merc SLK, but then again your right, my s5 trim doesn't add power, so I suppose everyone else who updates their trim is gay as well, and "high end honda" sounds a bit redundant to me. But hey, maybe your right, I know nothing, I'm not a high end civic SI (yo) fanboy, seems you know lots about gayness, seeing that you take it in the mouth so often.

Or they just want the better series of the FC, you know, aluminum spare, lighter car, no power seatbelts or electric OMP a water temp gauge that works you know things that matter. S5's are cost cutting nightmares. So what if he wants the only good part of the s5, the trim. You are a dumbass please go **** your boyfriend now.

As for exhaust dont bother with the twin loop i doubt it'll fit right anyways. I to have owned the Borla system and was very pleased with the quality. If you can get your hands on a Corksport or iMotoria single exit exhaust they sound great and the quality is not bad either. Cheap too.

hmmm lots of hate towards hondas...

Mugen does produce quality parts for hondas and no one can say that the purpose built sporty hondas like the type R's and whatnot are not nice cars.

That being said I would definatly go for something like the RB exhaust before going with a slapped together exhaust with a twin loop muffler.

FYI, mugen was founded by the son of the founder of HONDA. The products are of the same quality as the OEM honda stuff. As for s4 vs s5, no match s4 wins. The ONLY good things about s5 are the body and motor changes, and gtus parts. Other than that screw abs, auto seatbelts, shitty *** sway bar links, no lsd (t2 only) or 4 pots(except t2 and vert) and they are heavier than s4's. So what is the argument again.........

woah.. as a honda guy I'm going to have to say... WTF?? i wouldn't say they're anywhere near the same quality. Only if you're comparing Mugen OEM NSX or S2000 parts. and even then only MAYBE

Hum.....then why is honda Making a mugen SI with a full warr? I have seen more mugen stuff that 99% of the people in the USA due to the fact I an employed by the co. that films all of hondas domestic commerials and most of the jspec stuff. We all do alot of stuff for Honda R&D, I got to see the next s2000 a few weeks ago.

I'm not saying Honda and Mugen aren't connected.. but saying Mugen pieces are the same quality as Honda OEM is like saying that Nismo parts are no better than Nissan OEM... doesn't make much sense to me but maybe I missed something..

i think your both saying that mugen parts are designed very well and fit perfectly because they are designed like honda OEM parts.
