Mounting a new wing

Hey I got a wing off of the enfini III (aka the re type 2 i think) but the bolt holes don't line up. So does anyone know how to mount this correctly? I don't want to have to drill a bunch of holes to get it right.

I'm guessing that the rear two bolts fit in the stock holes? Then just scratch my paint with the front two + drill there?

This is going on a 91 coupe.

The way that I've always done it (taught to me a LONG time ago by a bodyman) is to thread the bolt into the wing first, then put a dab of something (RTV silicone, grease, etc) onto the heads of the bolts.

Have a buddy help you ease the wing down to where you're going to mount it (if the rears line up, great; that's 1/2 of the problem out of the way) and let it rest on the hatch/ trunk for a sec, transferring the dabbed material onto the surface.

Lift the wing off and you've hot the marks in place!

I suggest using black RTV silicon, because once you get the front holes drilled, you're going to want to remove the bolts and then put a fil of it on the underside of where the wing mounts to the surface.

This not only puts a barrier between the wing and the surface, but also enables you to seal the (potentially) preexisting holes.

Once you do that, hold the wing onto the surface and feed the bolts in (you can apply more RTV to the bottom of the bolt-heads, before you thread them in).

Use a socket and extension to put the bolts in, 'finger tight,' before you apply the use of a ratchet.

Ah that's a good idea, thanks. I'm probably going to weld the other holes shut from the stock wing.
