Misfire?

After finally getting my engine in and started I've noticed a very low thumping sound that comes kind of randomly. I pretty sure it's a misfire but I was wondering what could cause it. Could the timing be off or maybe just a bad fuel filter? The engine also seems to almost die out sometimes. The RPMs drop and giving it a little gas seems to bring it back up to where it will hold for awhile.

mine did that for a while....my problem was a side seal on the front rotor....it actually unstuck itself after a few weeks....find a place and do a compression test and post the numbers
