MIata shifter help

So the problem is that if i tighten my shifter screws my shifter becomes to stiff, but when i do get it right the shifter screws become loose over time leaving me with a floppy shifter. I really hate to have to tighten the screws everytime i feel that my shifter is too loose. Any ideas guys?

take a grinder to the bottom ball of ur shifter...i had the same problem with mine...grind it down a bit...just the bottom of it...and play with the bushing and washers a bit til it's comfortable...thats what i did with mine.
