Unhappy Mechanics for 1990 Rx-7 in Redmond/Bend ORE.

Mom's Rx-7 will be mine soon... She's been ripped-off by the big shops in Bend. I need a mechanic/parts place I can depend upon to help her out. Latest problem: It starts, idles briefly, conks out and the under carriage glows cherry red... We're not driving it any longer and I refuse to let the incompetents at Robberson in Bend take advantage any more... Help please!

Question RX7 owned by mom--thats cool!

My personal experience with red glow was a clogged catalytic.
But, you need to learn what caused it to fail in the first place.
I had issues with the AFM and 02 sensor. I am under the impression that airpump failure could shorten the cat's life. Also the timing might be off. A fuel injector might be malfunctioning.
Some of the best prices are online suppliers.

The east coast is full of competent rotary mechanics. I can't make any recommendations because I'm not from around there.

This list(as well as the members here) will help.

If you don't mind driving to Eugene I may know a guy that can help you out/give you advice.

If you are interested let me know,
Isaac

Bump

East?West? what was I thinking. I meant the west coast has many. I wish that there was a rotary specialist in RI. Me jealous.

Where is atkins/pineapple/hayes.....
And again, I am not making recommendations but those might be in your area.

Pineapple Racing is in Portland, Oregon. I think the other two are closer to Seattle, but I could be wrong.
