Me and my 86 TII....
This is a continuation of the topic i just about tread jacked. but anyways. I looked at the door jam and it was produced march of 1986. so that was really early in the year. I went back to sign pappers for the car and the loan dude said that yeah for some reason it was a 87 but he didn't understand why.. anyways.
So i finally got my Rx-7. I'm an offical owner of a pistonless vechicle and i love it. I had a wonderful experience working on it for the first time. Installing a HKS "boob" filter and a blitz BOV. well.... the car started to idle and finally die. So i had to sit with the gas petal slightly pressed in while my friends screwed one of the troddle control thingers. Finally fixed that but the BOV wouldn't go off... Oh crap... So we fiddle with the BOV some more and they told me to rev it a little and the water hose to the block blew apart and i shut the "7" off and did a quick fix. So got that outa of the way. So after awhile we get back to the dead bov problem. no matter what we did we couldn't get it to work at all. and we started to realize well the turbo isn't very loud at all... i get on it and the needle gets barely apove the first notch on the stock boost gage. there is oil pressure.
next project. my friend, who's house i did this all at. has that blown rx-7 that i was talking about a few times and we were swaping parts off that. So this weekend. His turbo, exhuast, 3" racing beat downpipe... and.. ya know the 2nd and 3rd sincro's on my rx-7 do grid a lot so maybe i'll take his tranny too.
I dunno. i thought i did pretty good since we all never worked on rotaries before. So if you guys have any adivse. please tell me. perhaps my turbo hasn't siezed. I'm not very trilled about pulling out his turbo
