Yo,
It passed smog with the stock airbox and stock cats...which were promptly taken off about an hour later. *grin*
Usually when I change my oil the car seems faster...I use 20-50W though.
I got the MS LAB from Rotorlution...who got it from Corksport.
I find it humorous that all my bling bling shiny stuff...is underneath my car!

Youre giving that exhaust WAY too much credit. If its the best flowing one out there, why is there not a single IT car running it? Collected exhausts flow better and make more power, period.

Hmmmmm. you substitured an HKS cat back, header, and I am assuming a presilencer for a MT True dual and got a power increase?
Oh wait. Stock ports . . now I get it. I was confused for a sec.

Yo,
I replaced the stock manifold, Racing Beat downpipe/Presilencer and the HKS 50mm catback with this exhaust.
It pulls way better up top. Instead of laboring to get to the buzzer, it pulls right past it.
When you stand behind the car and it's revved...it's like standing in a warm tropical breeze...that smells like gas and premix. *snicker*

Stock manifold . . that would play a role in the laborous redline acquisition. At least you didn't go a big single and end up soundlig like a ricer. I have yet to hear a true dual in person.

Yo,
The stereo effect is pretty damn cool. It sounds nice at WOT, not ricey at all. I've yet to hear a single that sounds good.
There is definitely more oomph to the sound down low. Throaty. It works!

True duels with pre-silencers, and the RB mufflers or the HKS ones and the exaust sounds great. Even with Turbo walkers....but if you leave out the pre-silencers, or use the stock mufflers and things usually sound like crap. Even location of where the mufflers are placed will change the exaust note, and rice factor.

It sounded really nice though.

i got the true duals. there is defenitley a top end increase. i also got a cone filter and ported manifolds and ported engine though. its loud as hell. my friends say they hear me coming 4 blocks away. it still has the rx7 signature exaust note, just modified. you still know its a 7 before seeing it, yet doesnt sound like the bumble bees in a can like the first gens. its worth having.

Because someone had to post it:
Calif. Counties Among Nation's Smoggiest
May 1, 2003 05:37 AM EDT
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - California cemented its notoriety as the smoggiest state by having nine counties and six metropolitan areas listed among the worst-polluted areas of the nation, according to American Lung Association rankings released Thursday.
The California counties of San Bernardino, Fresno and Kern retained the top three positions as reported last year. The metro areas of Los Angeles-Riverside-Orange County, Bakersfield and Fresno also reprised their top rankings.
Nationwide, nearly half of Americans are living in counties with unhealthy smog levels, the association reported.
I guess we know why... true duals

Yo,
Icemark, I knew you'd rain on my parade somehow. Congrats! If you can't move the thread, get your soapbox on! *Phbbbtt!*
Smog certification is just revenue generation for the State of California. If they were really interested in getting smog levels down, they'd deal with all the refineries and other industrial big money companies that are putting more CO2 and NO2 into the air than one gearhead and his RX-7 could in 5 lifetimes of 24/7 driving.
Sorry, I don't buy it.

I know, I was simply pointing out... My car although passes smog; is hardly smog legal either. But then I don't live in one of those counties mentioned...
Not raining on your parade though... that is why I put the smiliy in there, so you know I was only half serious. If I was driving a N/A and could get the noise levels down I would go your route as well (though personally I probably still would put two cats in there instead of the resonators).
And half the time when I move threads, it is because someone complained...
And hey... I was the only one so far to vote 5 stars on this thread... so PhhhhTTT back at you.

Yo,
Okay okay, group hug!
How do you rate threads anyways? I'll go back and rate my threads 5 stars! *grin*
The noise level on the system is totally acceptable to me...and I think a large portion of the people here. It's really not that bad. If anyone is in the Sac area, we'll take some vids!
