I am really interested in the mazdaracing.com short throw shifter as the 60% reduction is the best ive seen and 1987rx7guys rave reviews on the piece have been intriguing. I love the engraved rotor shifter **** too....
what has me erked however is the poor reviews and reputation the shop has from many people on this board. I have heard of a few that have received their parts perfectly fine and others with complaints. This got me to sending an email to them inquiring a bit more about the piece and shipping costs to Canada and I have not recieved any answers ( 2 weeks now)
This makes me a bit hesitant about ordering anything from them but i really want this piece.
Any current opinions on the shop and their customer service??? Anyone know shipping costs from Cali to Toronto Canada?? thanks

Haha, first to reply.

I am one of the biggest opponets of this shop and personally will never do business with them.

1) They ripped me off for an engine deal a few years back. It took me nearly 6 months to get my ~$1500 refunded and then they kept $300 for "shipping charges since I cancelled my order." WTF???

2) I talked to them at SS5 and asked them to make it right. They knew exactly who I was, and basically said F-off.

3) They are claiming a 15HP improvement with PULLIES? THEY ARE PULLIES? Pretty simple Physics says you are not going to gain 15RWHP by bolting on a pulley that is maybe a pound lighter and only 6" diameter... I don't care if it's 5lbs lighter, you aren't gaining 15HP from that.

4) The same company that claims a 15HP increase with pullies says their shifter is 60% shorter through? Hah, they've lied plenty enough to not belive this one.

5) So what if it really is 60% shorter? Higgi, mazdatrix etc all make shifter that are ~%50 shorter. The difference isn't that much and I'd rather support the honest hard working people than those who steal other peoples money with lies and deception.

6) I agree the shifter is kinda neat.... but for the reasons listed in #5.... I refuse to patronize them.

I like the stock shifter mysef, Its not worth $150+ for something like that. Just buy new brushing and its nice and tight again "Virgin RX".

Put that money toward a nice exhaust setup maybe.

Here is what you do ask them to take payment via paypal and get the buyer protection for like an extra 3% and that way even if they do screw you which I doubt you can get a refund from paypal if you never get your shifter. When I bought my short shifter from them it was shipped fast and they e-mailed me within hours of my e-mail being sent out. Maybe they are busy or something. I too have heard a lot of bad things about them but my experience was not one of the bad ones so I can't say they are bad people.

i just got my part in after ..how long ahas it been order dec 20 paid in ful..and today is march 19....where have the days gone.. i swear they must have used like sanil to deliver to canada

I did receive today (marc 19 2004)

after $25 on long distance calls..leaving messages..and various back forth with emails...

the excuses i got,,

we are moving (used 3 time)
part not rdy be rdy on friday we ship on monday (used 4 times)

phone not working /no one answer left messages (5 times)

but after all the hazzle i got it is nice and i like it..i sent it off to another machinest to put two gooves in it for rubber ..to give it better grip.


so your call tahy over charge shipping big time the package only weigh under 4 lbs..DHL delivers in 3 days..they charge 45 for shipping to canada. whichis over kil

oh: the y said tehy will refund my shipping since it took so damn loang..still waiting on that one..will call again on monday..and start heckling.
