I assumed it was an s5 because on the pic you posted of the INT housing, I didnt see any studs on top for the EGR valve to sit on...the s4 has the EGR, the s5 does not.
Also the rotorhousing you're holding doesnt have the flat/raised plate on the top, right by that chunk of metal sticking up, that the s4's *usually* have which says "license nsu wankel hiroshima japan" on it. However, ive seen a few s4's that didn't have that plate...so that was just my best guess.
s4 rotorhousings are easy to come by, but are usually in average to poor condition...nowhere near the condition of the one you have, which appears like new and excellent. The s4 housings don't hold up very well with time, while the s5's do a bit better and wear a bit less.

hmmm... im gonna ream brian's *** at maz max. the egr had a blockoff plate when i had the motor replaced, so they must have transferred it over. i think i might try to have the housing fixed at least. will a s5 front housing work with a s4 rear? does it even matter??? as soon as school ends i was thinking of coming up there to check out your whole operation. we'll see how that goes cause i get activated in july
