Max HP for FC
#26
i was happy with 230horsepower untill i blew my engine, well now im gonna rebuild and streetport it. as much fun as it is, it is so expensive, and the fuel efficiency sucks ***. but it is still fun, i've seen an RX-8 with like 950 hosepower? it might have been 3-rotor though.

400 is enough for a STREET CAR. more than that is too much IMO. my friend told me that its like driving on the snow all the time because your tires just spin everywhere and it gets annoying really fast. i dont think too many of us (including me) can fathom how fast 400hp in an fc is. its more than enough for this type of car. also, when you push the HP limit too much i would think that reliability would go down exponentially. how many miles do these 600hp bohemoths last?

With a stock FC weight 250 RWHP should be plenty to kill most other street cars, even corvettes. Assuming you drive it correctly. You realy do not need more unless it's also a drag car on the weekends... in which case, buy a f'ing daily driver with the gas you save in a WEEK.
Max HP though... this question was just vague enough to get everyone going haha... you have to specify what exactly you're shooting for with the tuning of the engine... max HP for 3 passes? max HP that's streetable? These engines have a wide wide range of tuning options!
And GT4 pissed me off... the reason the FC maxes out at about 400hp in the game is because they don't know what PORTING is... there is no tune option for PERIPHERAL PORT haha. That kinda pissed me off... I do love the game though... only game I've ever played that you can actually translate SOME of your (good) driving habits in.

Im trying to hit 400 on pump gas, maybe shoot for 500 after that. Im hoping to hit the 400 with a small hit of nitrous and without porting the engine. After it blows ill port it and hope for the 500.
On a side note, yea, that rx8 that was 900 was on a 20b. Last I heard though there were some problems with it. It maxed out its hp in the midrange and lost a good bit of hp in the top end.

All these people claim to be building 400+ HP RX-7's, but few actually ever do it..
It takes alot more cash than most people think. I'm about 6K (10K including the car) into my RX-7 and still havent gotten an upgraded turbo, new engine, or a FMIC..

If you want to talk engine swaps, I saw a dyno sheet for a peripheral port turbo 20B that was putting down about 980rwhp. Supposedly Hinson is going to be making 1200rwhp with their twin turbo LS1, but that's a bit much, and it's not even an FC.

i thought i saw a 900+hp 13b powered red fc drag car in sport compact car magazine like last year or something, did you guys already mention it? seems like i remember the driver's name being hispanic or something?

I hear ya Impreza2RX7, I will end up having 7K into my car(not including the cars cost) which will be 10K then. I just wait for the good deals to come around, it will take about another 2K to finish the car up.
Fast car = fast way to spend alot of cash
