Master cylinder bleeding help.

Hey guys,

Recently my master cylinder dried up because of the lines not being tight enough at the front calipers. After tightening them up and filling the master cylinder up again, I cannot get fluid to the front calipers. I unhook the lines from the front calipers and still can't get any fluid to come out. I hear about bench bleeding and don't know if I have to do it or even what it is.

The master cylinder worked fine before it leaked dry.

Any ideas?

Brian

Take the bleeder screw completely out of the caliper, hold your finger over the hole, and have someone push the peddle down a couple of times. That's usually enough to get the flow going for a proper bleed, after you've reinstalled the bleeder (you'll feel/see the fluid coming when the master finally "primes" itself).

I have trying to bleed it the normal way, unhooking the line just trying to get some fluid out, and even hooking up a vacuum pump to the open line and still cant get fluid from the cylinder. I shoot air back up and can hear it bubbling in the cylinder so I know it isn't plugged.

Why can't I get fluid to the calipers?

Man, shooting air up the lines certainly isn't helping you...
