Master cyclinder

I need a new master cyclinder, when i put fluid in it leaks out between the reservoir and the MC . Should i get new bushings or oil rings that the reservoir sits in or a new MC ? Also how do you tell what suspension you have? When i called to get a MC they asked if i had heavy duty or normal suspension ? How do i tell ?

With suspension they mean do you have 4 piston front brakes or single piston front brakes. 4 piston brakes are in the dealer books as the heavy duty suspension, while the single piston brakes are considered normal suspension.

If you don't know, then you will need to post year and model.

I have a 88 N/A pretty sure it's a GTU also. I believe it's a GTU due to it having 15" wheels and no rear wiper.

88 GTU will have 15" 5 lug wheels, 4 piston front brakes, heavy duty suspension, aero style power mirrors, rear spoiler, under body aero kit and a LSD.

No power windows, now power locks, no rear wiper.

The GXL will have power windows and a rear wiper

The SE will have 4 lug wheels

yes, HD suspension.

The lower body aero kit first appeared on the 86-87 Sport, with a lower spoiler skirt in front of each wheel, and a aluminum panel between the engine and rear of the front subframe. A rear spoiler was also included with the aero kit. It lowered the drag of the FC from a Cd of .32 (GXL) to a .289 (the lowest of any RX-7 ever).

The aero kit also came on the 88 TurboII and the 88 GTU with the revised GTU style wing rear spoiler.
