manual rack tie rods and ends, opinion on these?
I'm swapping my tie rods and ends. not to much noticable play but thats what I thought about my wheel bearings and repacking made a decent improvement there. I have steering wheel vibration at highway speeds. ball joints replaced and front bearings repacked already. do these look alright for manual rack? I kinda have no budget but I scooped some tires and need alignment and would like these done before hand.

I bought that set two years ago, have roughly 15k miles on them, some drift events, and a lot of late night shenanigans.
Same seller, although mine were for a depowered S5 rack. (don't recall if there is a difference)
One inner tie rod was defective when it was shipped and this happened as I installed it:
snapped two pics for the seller, he had a new pair in my hands within like two days. (Mind you I am in Florida too)

so, a good review? (when you got a good part shipped instead of a faulty). they have 1 yr warranty so should be good. screw it, I'll just bite the bullit. beck arnley are 50 for just outers but lifetime warranty. I'll check these out. thanks guy, I got belts showing on tires and need these asap so I can put the new tires on and get alignment asap so I don't ruin my good tires lol. I hate life

Certainly a good review. Of both the support of World Suspension Parts as a seller and of the product. Even brands like MOOG or Beck Arnley have defects now and then, the parts have lasted so far with me, and have performed beyond my expectations.

*ordered. thanks guy! hope I have the same luck but get good parts to start with. I'm starting to hear mixed reviews of moog these days. quality is going down a bit. used to be good stuff.

Manual Rack

Yes there is a difference. If im not mistaken one of the tie rods wont work on a manual rack. Just like the super steering angle kit wont work on manual racks because of the thread or size? Cant recall. Let me know though. I have/LOVE manual rack and should replace my tie rods and such since i dont know how old my junk is. Also Moog is a legit company, quality shouldnt be a problem.

Yea, Moog was what I used to exclusively use. I bought these as a holdover since some of the autoparts warehouses were back-ordered. (or so i was told)
never had issues so I never needed to change them.
I thought that the Power and Manual racks were different, either way, I had a good experience with the power rack version so I'd imagine that the others are comparable in quality. As far as the steering angle kit goes, I just modded my knuckles myself, so I wouldn't know.

FOR THE RECORD: the inner tie rod end is different between power and manual racks. the outer tie rod ends are the same. on a manual rack, one inner rod has a different thread and *I think* might be slightly different length then the other side. main point is that power rack inner tie rods won't work for a manual rack.
another note: its almost impossible to find manual steering rack bushings these days. BUT I hear you can modify some sway bar bushings to work. just figure out the size. energy suspension and summit racing have some that work, but you will have to do the measuring yourselves.

I recieved my tie rod "bundle" and was initially dissappointed when the ad said it was ev204 and ev205 for the inners. the box also had this written on it yet I recieved an ev204 and is205 . After some investigation (the is205 looked like it did not have an outer threaded end but an inner threaded end, turns out it was just a thread cover. they are all in sealed clear packages and I didn't want to open in case I needed to return) I have discovered that for the MANUAL RACK FC only, ev205 and is205 inner tie rods are interchangable. wanted to update so everyone knows.
Disclaimer: THIS IS ABOUT MANUAL RACK!!! it does not regard the power rack as the inner tie rods are different from the manual rack. that is all, hope I help someone in the future looking to cheap out on tie rods lol.

I did a power to manual conversion about a month ago and just used stock parts. Stock manual inner rods and stock power outer ball joints(used power joints because the boots were torn on the manual joints). Had to do some tweaking to get it all aligned and vibration free. Vibration can be caused by alignment causing the tires to skip across the road if the tires are toed inward or outward too much.
I'd tweak with the tie rod alignment before you buy anything special.

well, I already bought inner and outer tie rod ends. $40 on ebay. with one good review from that guy that posted here. I don't know the history of the car so don't know when they were last changed but I have put 25k miles on her since I bought her and she needs to get new tires and an alignment so I figure new tie rods before the alignment and tires. makes sense for the price I thought. I will update if they fail and at what mileage, I daily and drift a little so they will get some abuse.

I was reading the tie rod replacement archive thread and they mentioned greasing the inner tie rods up. I'm not sure exactly what to do there. do I just put grease over the top of that joint or am I supposed to push the grease in somehow kinda like our fornt wheel bearings? (I know that the inner tie rod joint is ball type and the wheel bearings are roller type but you know what I mean, am I supposed to pack grease into the inner tie rod joint? they look pregreased to me).
